  • ₹5,000 stipend per month

  • ₹6,000 one-time joining grant

  • Insurance coverage under:

    • PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY)

    • PM Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY)

  • 12 months of real industry experience

  • Exposure to different companies and work sectors

Why This Scheme Matters

This scheme is mainly useful because:

  • Many students don’t get real internship exposure

  • It helps freshers understand workplace culture

  • It supports youth from financially weaker backgrounds

  • It helps bridge the gap between college learning and industry requirements

Issues Reported in the Scheme (Important to Know)

As per recent updates, there are some concerns too:

  • A large part of the budget is still unused

  • Many internship offers are not being accepted

  • Very few candidates have completed the full internship

  • The stipend may not be enough for metro cities

So yes, the scheme has a good goal, but it still needs improvements.
